"I wish you were here."

…..And it will get 20,000+ notes. Or it can be funny like:

"It’s 11:11! Make a wish!"
"I wish you were here.. OH WAIT, I JUST MISSED IT. Guess I’ll just have to wait til 2022"

Technology ruins relationships

because it allows us to misinterpret a lot of things.

1. Communication

Before cell phones, internet, AIM, texting, Facebook, Tumblr.. we all communicate with each other. We would talk about our problems to our friends, partners, etc. We would go out and have a great time talking and enjoying each other’s company. But now, we would only “catch up” via internet. Blogging about our problems, venting out to a blog site. Plan things via using Facebook events.

Because of smart phones, when people hang out with each other, all they do is be in each other’s presences, but be on their phones.. checking up on Facebook, browsing through Tumblr or websites, play games, or even texting other people. Whatever happened to communicating? I hate it when I’m trying to hang out with my friends, family, or even boyfriend.. and they’re on their phone and not talk to you. Our table would be SILENCE. If you are going to be on your phone while spending time with me, than I rather be home spending time with myself while you can be at your own house, on your computer, doing the same shit. Let me know when you’re done updating yourself with everyone’s statuses.

I have a smart phone myself, but I wouldn’t check my Facebook, browse the web, go on Tumblr, or even play games IN THE MIDDLE OF a conversation, dinner, or whatever the fuck. It’s rude. If you’re going to hang out with me, please don’t ignore me and just be on your phone. But if you are going to do that to me, then I’ll do it back to you.

2. Misinterpretations

Because of technology, it makes relationships difficult. Text messages are being read in the wrong way because we assume what the tone of the message is. Sometimes we take it as a sarcastic or mean way when the sender does not mean it that way at all. Maybe he or she was saying it in a jokingly way, but we don’t know that. We read it however we take it as.

3. Privacy leads to suspiciousness

Everyone wants their privacy. Technology allows people to hide their things pretty damn well. This also creates another problem. For example, in relationships, if one of the partners do not want the other one to find out something, it’s easy to hide it from him or her - just put it in private. It’s so easy for people to cheat on their partners nowadays. They can easy shoot you a text message saying they are at home or whatever, when really, they are at somewhere else with someone else, and you won’t even know it. Why? Because people do not bother to call anymore, or actually to even tell the truth anymore.

Or another example -Tumblr. Now that they have privacy inbox shit, another way to hide questions that are being asked, when really, they can be carrying on a conversation with someone else, and you won’t even know it. Even your blogs can be set on private, so people won’t know what you are blogging about - what you are truly expressing because it might hurt other’s feelings.

Technology ruins everything.
